We believe…
Education begins with the child in front of us and the environment we find ourselves in. A child who understands how to create a graph out of rocks and shells will better understand the purpose of a chart. A teacher who lingers over a concept until a student reaches that “aha moment” understands that depth is more important than breadth. And the educator who chooses developmental continuums alongside standards, understands that they are in service to the child in front of them.

Numbers tell a story before they become a rule, and every child already makes sense of the world through math. The work is building understanding before procedure.
